God desires every marriage to thrive and grow in Him. Having a more experience couple to journey with you and taking time to refresh your marriage is vital for your marriage to flourish.

As part of growing your marriage, we will match you with a marriage mentor to journey with the both of you. These marriage mentors are spiritually mature couples from Bartley and they are certified Prepare Enrich Facilitators and trained by Bridging Hearts and the Marriage Mentoring Academy.

Marriage Mentors FAQs

1. How long is the mentoring relationship?

A commitment of at least 6 months to a year. You are encouraged to meet for a year and thereafter to review your mentoring relationship.

2. How often do we have to meet?

The frequency of meetings can be worked out between you and your mentor as your schedule permits. We encourage you to meet your marriage mentor at least once a month.

3. What do we do in a mentoring session?

You will first complete your Prepare Enrich Assessment before meeting your mentor. Thereafter, your mentor will walk you through your Prepare Enrich report in each session and you will have an accompanying Prepare Enrich workbook.

Topics that will be covered in your Prepare Enrich sessions can include communication, personal stress profile, conflict resolution, financial management, sex and affection, relationship roles, spiritual beliefs, couple & family maps, personality profile etc.

4. What is expected of me as a mentee?

  • Be committed to the relationship and make time for meet-up.
  • Be open to share and allow your mentor into your lives.
  • Be open to receive from your mentor and apply what you have learned

5. Will what I shared be kept confidential?

Yes, we believe it is important to keep the sharing confidential. This is done out of love and respect, and to build a safe relationship. The exceptions are when there are matters pertaining to physically harming yourself or harming others, or where crime is involved. When there is a need for others to come in so as to better help you, your mentor will check in with you.

6. Is the marriage mentoring open to couples from other churches or non-Christians?

The marriage mentoring program is only open to members of Bartley and who are Christians.
