This is a historical survey of the Reformation. The course traces the circumstances that gave rise to the Reformation and the different religious, political and cultural forces that coalesced in birthing the Protestant church.  It will examine the lives and legacies of some of the prominent reformers and the implications of Karl Barth's comment that “the church is always to be reformed” for our present times.
